As I continue sharing about mindfulness, mental health, and chronic illness, I’ve been feeling a deeper pull toward exploring the spiritual aspects of healing as well. My journey has led me to experiences that go beyond the physical and mental—into moments of profound clarity, intuition, and connection. A peak experience is more than just a fleeting moment of joy—it can be a catalyst for deep soul & spiritual transformation. These experiences offer a glimpse into a more expansive way of being, where clarity, connection, and purpose become undeniable. In the context of spiritual awakening, a peak experience can serve as a breakthrough, reshaping how you see yourself and the world. It may provide profound insights, affirm your path, or even dissolve old limitations, allowing you to move forward with greater alignment.


Recognizing and integrating these moments is essential because they offer a taste of what’s possible—a reminder that there’s more to existence than the everyday struggles. They show us the depth of our own consciousness and the interconnectedness of all things.

  • Timelessness & Expansion: Time may feel irrelevant, and you might sense yourself expanding beyond your physical form, past fatigue, experiencing existence in a way that goes beyond logic.


  • Surge of Love & Inner Peace: Many describe overwhelming waves of love, gratitude, excitement, or a sense of being exactly where they are meant to be. This can lead to lasting changes in perspective and emotional well-being.

Yes! Spiritual growth is a journey, not a one-time event. Some people have multiple peak awakenings throughout life, each one expanding their awareness and understanding in new ways. The key is to stay open and present to these moments when they arise.

It’s normal for the intensity of a peak experience to fade over time. Instead of trying to hold onto the feeling, focus on integrating the insights into daily life. Return to practices that help you feel connected, such as meditation, journaling, or community discussions.


 



Grounding Yourself and Following Your Path is Key


My Journey:


Whenever I start to write this section, I close my eyes and ask my spirit team—my intuition, higher self, and all the Gods, Goddesses, earth energies, and spirits I connect with—to help me find the words I feel called to express.


On January 25th, 2025, when the planets aligned, I had my first profound peak experience. It lasted for hours, catching me by surprise, yet feeling exhilarating and deeply calming at the same time. Usually at this time of night I’m exhausted, but my body felt neither tired nor overwhelmed, it simply was. It was as if a veil had lifted, revealing layers of understanding I hadn’t accessed before. Thoughts flowed effortlessly, angel numbers increased, insights landed with crystal clarity, and I felt an undeniable connection to something greater than myself.


One catalyst was Ash_TheSelfHealer on Instagram, but it wasn’t just one person, account, platform or thing—it was a convergence of everything I had been seeing, learning, practicing, and opening myself up to. The flow of information hasn’t stopped since, but I’ll share more on that in a future post.


I also want to reassure anyone reading this that this didn’t happen overnight. I didn’t meditate for one day and suddenly have a breakthrough. Since 2021 or 2022, I’ve been deeply committed to mindfulness, meditation, and inner healing. I’ve spent years working hard at peeling back layers, learning to regulate my nervous system, learning about my illnesses and expanding my awareness. This peak experience wasn’t a random event—it was a natural progression of the work I’ve been doing. If you’re on a similar path, know that every moment of practice matters, even if the shifts aren’t immediate.


During a therapy session, I described the experience to my therapist, who introduced me to the term "peak experience." (I had to look it up afterward!) She recognized how my mindful healing journey had been leading me in a more spiritual direction, and I realized that what I had previously called a spiritual awakening was part of something even bigger.
